Lets say that you have a problem that requres you to convert a fraction into a decimal. I personally like working with decimals better than with frations so it is important that we know how to do this. It is very simple when you know how.
There are many ways that you can do this but for me- the way that I was taught- the simple division problem. Lets say that you have the fraction 1/2 and you need it in the form of a decimal. For me I don't have to do the math for this one because you will eventually memorize them. To convert 1/2 in to a decimal you will have to devide the bottom into the top. At first this might seem a little wierd because the bigger number is in the inside.
