I bet that most people would be confused if I told them that we do a lot of writing in math. Most of the time we write in core and calculate numbers in math. We write blog posts about math every Monday. This has really helped me. We have to really understand what we are learning about to write our blog post.

Next year we will have to write a lot more than usual. We will be having to write essays in math. We will be writing summaries about the math skill. Which to me sounds really difficult. I have to do enough writing in all of my other classes and now math too! But this format will replace most of the CST's.  I would rather do the CST's than to this kind of writing tests. Blogs have helped me to prepare for this.

We have learned many things this year in math. Some have been hard, and some were easy. I think that the most challenging thing from this year has been surface area and volume. They are both a part of chapter 10, and to me are very challenging.

The biggest thing for me has really be memorizing the formulas. There is like a million for that chapter and i get them all mixed up. Even when I use the right formula I still manage to get the wrong answer. What has really help for me (I sound like a big nerd) but has been going in and getting help for the teacher. For me this helps a lot. You don't have any distractions and the teacher can focus on your problem. Mrs. Moon and eventually got me to understand it ,but it still isn't my strongest area.
